Convertible Seats

  • Convertible Car Seats can be used either forward or rear-facing by making simple adjustments. They can be used longer than infant seats, but are bulkier, less portable, and may not fit small infants as well. All models include a tether for forward-facing installation only, unless otherwise noted.
  • When choosing a convertible seat for an infant, we encourage you to purchase one with a high rear-facing weight limit. Infants are safest when riding rear-facing to 18 months or beyond.
  • Two harness types to choose from:
5-Point Harness-five anchor points: two at the shoulders, two at the hips, and one at the crotch. No shield.
  • Tray-Shield or Overhead Shield-padded, tray-like shield that swings down around the child on hinged arms. Some models are adjustable.

(NOTE: If selecting a convertible seat for a newborn baby, choose one with a 5-Point harness, not a shield. Shields do not fit newborn babies properly.)
