New kid on the block: The Evenflo Gold Revolve 360!
In March 2020, Cybex released one of the most revolutionary car seats!
It was the Cybex Sirona S, a 360-degree swiveling convertible car seat!
So naturally, it received a great amount of hype, and it still does to this day as it is an excellent rotational all-in-one car seat!
However, from the beginning of 2021, Evenflo announced that Cybex would have a new buddy in the best rotating car seat category.
The innovative rotating car seat by Evenflo was from the Gold Revolve series, and it was the first rotational 3-in-1 one car seat on the market!
I'll go more into detail comparing these two in my comparison table below, but for now, I want you to know who started the trend of rotating car seats first.
The Evenflo Gold Revolve360 rotating car seat accommodates three uses, and it offers a 10-year service!
Compared to the original rotating car seat, this one leads to at least three more years of use.
Along with the revolutionary design, the Evenflo car seat includes parent-friendly features you will love!
It's a fantastic design that grows with your baby!
With up to 14 positions in the headrest and four recline positions, your kid will always have a perfectly comfy fit until he is ready for a backless booster!
1. Up to 10 years of use!
I bet every parent gets excited as I did when I first learned you could use the Evenflo Gold Revolve car seat for up to 10 years! How great is that?
Although the price range is not as affordable as some may want it to be, Evenflo steps the game up when it comes to unique elements and prolonged service, so there is not much to complain about.
The price perfectly fits the quality!
That being said, the car seat can be used from 4-120 pounds and features up to three modes of installation. Interestingly, this car seat offers a foldable infant insert.
No other manufacturer has offered this feature before, so I was pretty surprised when I tested it out.
I suggest you check the manual for more information as the fold will not be the same for all infants.
It works well in offering an excellent fit to the smaller babies.
The infant insert consists of five main parts, and the most significant benefit for me is that they are easy to put back in after a wash.
It is no more figuring out which piece goes where!
It's not a puzzle at all, and all of the inserts are machine-washable on a delicate cycle.
2. The incredible safety features of the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360
I was already familiar with the safety of Evenflo car seats as I tested out a fair share of them. This one is no different!
The 3-in-1 car seat includes side-impact protection, has been tested for structural integrity (2x the federal crash test standard) as well as temperature and rollover tested!
Many parents will see that rotating seat and immediately assume it's not stable in the vehicle seat.
This is where they are wrong.
With the help of the LockStrong system, once installed, the Evenflo seat does not budge!
The seating area automatically locks into the car seat base and pulls it down, along with the Tether 360, which prevents the child's seat from sliding or rotating once installed.
3. A game-changing feature Evenflo offers
Evenflo introduced a significant turning point in the car seat industry! Following Cybex, this is a unique rotating car seat that swivels!
So, let's see how it works.
As you can see, with the car seat poisoned, you can rotate it all the way around before fully locking it. Why is this such a great benefit?
Because it's so much easier to get your kid in and out of the car seat! I no longer have to bend my back and practically get in the car to reach all the straps.
Instead, I can rotate it towards me, buckle up my squirmy toddler, and rotate the seat back into the appropriate position.
The rotation feature works extraordinarily for parents with bad backs and pregnant mommas.
If you are far along with your second pregnancy, installing the car seat can be more than a challenge sometimes, right?
Well, it no longer has to be!
The big belly does not get in the way of you rotating the seat and safely buckling in the kiddo. It's such a life-saver in these kinds of situations!
Also, while the car is not in motion and you are stopping to take a break, you can rotate the seat and let the little one chat with his older brother or sister in the back.
The convenience is out of this world for the rotatable design!
Plus, if you have another passenger that needs to get in the back seat and the Evenflo is installed rear-facing, flip it over and allow for easy entry.
4. Sensor Safe technology
Thank God for the SensorSafe technology. Otherwise, I would not have a sound mind!
It works well for anxious parents and those who need to monitor the changes in the back seat.
Look at it this way.
How many times did your toddler unbuckle themself out of the car seat? Too many times to count?
If you are a lucky parent and this has never happened, hats off to you! But, if this situation is familiar, you would know the stress.
My heart skips a beat when my little one is out of the car seat, and I previously did not hear him unbuckle.
When driving, this does distract you, and it would be helpful not to think about these situations and have a sound mind once and for all.
Well, we ask, and Evenflo delivers! Meet the SensorSafe.
It's a unique mobile app you can connect through your phone and monitor the child in the back seat.
The sensor is located in the chest buckle, and you can sync up via Bluetooth.
What does the app do? It notifies you of the following changes:
Along with the rotating feature, the app is my favorite addition in offering the safest ride for the kid and the parent!
Currently, the SensorSafe app is available with the Evenflo and Cybex car seats.
5. Installation
Installing the Evenflo car seat has never been easier!
Let me start by saying you will only need to install this car seat once! Yep, you heard that correctly.
Thanks to the location of the top tether anchor, which is located at the base and not the car seat shell, you won't need to install it differently in the rear-facing and forward-facing positions.
When you first install the car seat, it needs to be removed from the car seat base. In this case, flip the leg rest.
Next, lift and rotate the handles located at the top of the seat shell.
As you do this, try to align the red arrow (located on the car seat) with the white arrow (located on the base), this will allow the car seat to pop right up from the case.
The recommended installation and the preferred method of many parents are with the seat belt.
Although you can install the car seat with lower anchors, the seat belt is a much easier and secure installation for this type of car seat.
6. Lower anchors, tether anchor & recline
The lower and top tether anchors play a big role in the installation.
For instance, the lower anchors are labeled to tell which side is going up when installing the seat.
Top tether anchor is required in both the forward-facing and rear-facing modes, and it's located on the car seat's base.
Given that you will install the car seat base only one way, using it is so easy!
It's nothing like the Cybex Sirona S, where the theater is on the shell of the car seat, so you will have to click it in each time you rotate the car seat in the rear-facing position.
Lastly, you should know that using the booster mode; you are not allowed to use the tether anchor; only the lower anchors are suitable in this case.
As for the recline, it's incredible! It's located in the back of the car seat, so you need to squeeze it and adjust the recline position of your choice. There is also a recline angle indicator on both sides.
The on-the-go recline is perfect for travelers of all ages!
You will notice that there is a color-coded guide underneath the bubble level indicator.
The one painted with white is for children between 4-20 pounds riding in the forward-facing mode, while the one marked with black is for over 20 pounds of weight.
7. Adjustments for a secure fit
As much as I want my kiddo to be safely buckled in their car seat, I want ultimate comfort as well.
Unfortunately, so often, harness straps tend not to be so comfortable as your child grows up, as they can get pretty tight.
Luckily, the Evenflo offers harness covers that have thicker padding to them.
The harness strap pads are not too thick to interfere with the installation of the harness, but it's just enough to offer a comfortable feel.
They cannot be removed, so spot clean them if your child gets them dirty. However, the harness cover is suitable for the machine wash.
You can fasten the harness cover with the harness strap pads using the hook-and-loop fastener system.
On the car seat, you can also find a seat lock indicator.
It's located on each side of the car seat base, so you will always know if you have locked the car seat or not. When it's showing green, it indicates that it's good to go!
For those long road trips, your kid will need a drink by their side, especially during a sunny day ride.
They will find cup holders to be of most use as it's a clever hiding spot and mini storage locations for toys, snacks, and other necessities! My kid loves them!
They can also be removed by turning them 90 degrees. In this way, you can clean them easily without reaching deep into the cup holder.
Let the swivel war begin!
When swivel seats are mentioned, everyone's mind immediately goes to Cybex Sirona S, right?
That was the situation until the beginning of 2021 up until Evenflo produced a 360-degree rotation car seat of their own.
These two may look similar, but they are entirely different from one another in all areas!
The Evenflo is a budget-friendly opinion compared to the Cybex car seat, starting from the price.
Cybex is known as one of the high-end luxury brands, and the Sirona S car seat is representative of their fine craftsmanship.
In addition to being more affordable, Evenflo takes the lead when it comes to installation modes!
Sirona S is a convertible car seat, but it can only be installed in rear-facing and forward-facing modes.
However, as you could notice from the review, the Evenflo car seat innovation lies in its three uses-the rear-facing, forward-facing, and booster car seat mode!
So far, Evenflo leads the game.
Both the Cybex and Evenflo include a SensorSafe system which I mention is extremely helpful for anxious parents!
Cybex includes an additional linear side impact protection which is something Evenflo lacks.
The linear safety can absorb up to 25% crash force, so it's a brilliant feature if you want added safety.
However, with the addition of a load leg, Cybex is more suitable for bigger vehicles, so keep that in mind.
However, one of the disadvantages Evenflo has is the limited recline angles. In addition, it does not sit completely upright, so it may not be the best comfort for all toddlers.
So, who is the winner? I would say the Evenflo is a much better choice than Cybex.
The swivel function is much more accessible and easier to manage, cleaning is a breeze, and it's generally more compact than Cybex compared to the price point it holds.
However, if you are specifically looking for features like an anti-rebound bar or linear side-impact, Cybex is a fantastic option.
Either way, you cannot go wrong with either of the seats.
2. Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 vs Nuna Revv
Here we have another example of a 360-rotational car seat.
It's the Nuna Revv, priced more than its two competitors.
The Nuna Revv is another convertible car seat with only two modes of installation-the rear-facing and forward-facing.
You know the drill by now.
If you need a booster mode as well, then Evenflo is your clear choice!
The Nuna car seat reclines up to 10 positions-five in the rear-facing and the other five in the forward-facing.
The main downside of the Evenflo Gold was the limited recline, so Nuna takes a win here.
In addition, Revv is extremely easy to install with the car seat, and it has a smooth swivel style.
Both car seats are perfect for pregnant moms, grandparents, or caretakers who do not want to go through the troublesome installations.
However, the Nuna Revv is a tad bit heavier car seat, and it weighs 32 pounds as opposed to the Evenflo that weighs 29 pounds.
The weight difference is not that noticeable, especially if you plan on installing the car seat only once.
The main point that will help you decide between these two car seats is the weight limit.
The Nuna Revv has a small weight limit of only 40 pounds.
No, that does not stand only for the rear-facing installation.
However, the 40 pounds weight limit is the maximum limit your child can be in, so considering the price, this is not the smartest option if you plan on Revv being your main car seat.
Disadvantages of the Evenflo Gold Revolve 360
As much as I wished this car seat was flawless, sadly, it isn't.
Honestly, I did not expect it to be, considering every car seat I tried out had at least one or two flaws.
So, what was that I didn't like in the Evenflo car seat?
Well, for starters, I do wish there were more recline angles.
For those long car trips, I want my baby to be as comfortable as possible, and if they need to take a nap, I need the car seat to recline for a comfy fit.
This one does recline but not enough.
It doesn't even offer a fully upright position which I guess will be a problem later. However, time will tell.
I did not struggle with the following feature, but I want to warn you about it.
As I mentioned, Evenflo requires tethering in the rear-facing and forward-facing position, so make sure you always have a tether anchor available.
Some parents had trouble with the swivel getting stuck in the middle of the rotation. I did not have this sort of issue, so I guess it was a faulty model?
All in all, the Evenflo rotatable car seat did impress me and everyone around! However, I found not many disadvantages, which I may add is a rare case.

Does the Evenflo 360 recline?
Yes, the Evenflo 360 does recline both rear-facing and forward-facing positions.
In addition, it has up to four recline positions which are adjusted by a lever located on the top of the car seat.
How do you clean Evenflo Revolve 360?
The Evenflo Revolve 360 is extremely easy to clean!
The infant insert and harness covers are suitable for the machine wash, so you can always clean them and let them air dry.
It's also recommended that you wash the covers in the delicate cycle to avoid damaging them.
All the other plastic and metal parts such as the lap belt, crotch buckle, car seat base, and buckles are cleaned with cold water and a soft cloth.
Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 vs. Cybex Sirona S: Which is better?
In terms of price, Evenflo Gold Revolve 360 is a better option as it costs less and has similar options to the Cybex seat.

Its price competitors have all the functionality, quality design, and parent-friendly features.
Evenflo Revolve 360 car seat is the ultimate choice for grandparents, those with sore backs, and parents who want an easier in and out process!
