Although the Safety 1st car seat does not get as much recognition as it should, we will discuss why it is that?

Is it necessary to buy a ridiculously expensive car seat when you have a perfectly functioning option standing right in front of you? Safety 1st offers parents a sound mind regarding safe rides and a comfortable traveling experience for the kiddos. Let's see what this convertible car seat has to offer.

Stick around till the end; we have a spicy Safety 1st Grow and Go reviews competition match heating up.

Triple Use?

Let's start with an obvious selling point. The use. This car seat offers 3-in-1 installation uses all while being affordable. How amazing is that?

You can install the car seat rear-facing since it's suitable for little ones between 5 and 40 pounds. Safety 1st Grow and Go takes immense pride in this use. As soon as you take your baby from the hospital, it's first ride home can be in this very car seat.

To fit infants, the car seat has a lumbar support pillow and a head support one. As soon as they get a bit bigger, take out the support, and free some extra leisure space.

Now, I do have to mention one point. The harness can be large on some babies. We didn't have this problem, but some parents commented that it took some while to grow into it.

After those couple of precious months fly by, your baby is ready for forward-facing riders.

This installation is suitable for kiddos who weigh between 22 to 65 pounds. I have to admit. This is my favorite type of installation. Though you have to be careful when you decide to secure your kid this way, let me tell you one thing. This is the time you are going to get the most use out of the car seat.

With cup holders and shoulder and harness pads, kids will have a blast while riding in their car seats.

The final use is the belt-positioning booster. Keep In mind that the back does not come off and that this is a high-back booster. Usually, kids should use a booster seat until they are 4 feet and 9 inches tall.

When you install the car seat as a booster, you can remove all the insert pads and harness and enjoy the belt use.

Does Safety 1st Look Up to Their Name?

ABSOLUTELY! The brand puts all the focus on safety rather than a luxurious design. This particular car seat offers side impact protection, not only in a car seat but in booster mode. It's interesting to know that the booster use was rated as a good bet by IIHS.

Installation

Installation for this 3-in-1 car seat uses the Latch System. It incorporates hook-style clips that are easy to tackle. Even if this is your first time installing a car seat, I don't think you will have any trouble.

Features Worth Mentioning

Before we compare this car seat to its competitions, we have a few other features we would like to mention.

  • Firstly, this is one of those models that is a perfect fit for smaller cars. It has a narrow bottom profile, and it offers up to 7 inches in legroom. I will say this, however. This may be a significant benefit for some, but it can also create a problem.
When the car seat is fully reclined, expect it to take some significant space. When it's upright, you won't have issues but have In mind that it's not suitable for, let's say, a Sedan.
  • The harness system is another plus. It's easy to tighten and loose when necessary, and it even comes with built-in harness holders. When you install the seat as a booster, tuck the harness away.
  • My favorite ones are the two cup holders. I cannot stress enough how much they come in handy. During longer travels, kids have a blast with them. As it helps store beverages, it will also become their favorite hiding place for toys and snacks.
  • Washable cover! Do I have to say anything more?

Safety 1st Grow and Go Vs. Top Competitors

Safety 1st vs. Graco Extend2Fit

safety 1st grow and go arb review

One of the biggest competitors in the market is Graco Extend2Fit. Let's first start by comparing the weight of the product.

While Safety 1st Grow and Go measures 19x24x24 inches, Graco Extend2Fit stands with 21x26x27 inches. Right then and there, we can notice that Safety 1st is significantly slimmer in design, but it still does not allow for three in a row installation.

As for the weight, Safety 1st Grow and Go takes the win. By weighing 18.7 lbs., it's still not the world's lightweight car seat, but it's impressive compared with Graco Extend2Fit's 23.7 lbs. I would personally not take either option for travel. You can take a look at our best car seats for travel article and find a lighter option.

Next up is the recline positions. With Safety 1st Grow and Go, you will get three recline positions while Extend2Fit offers 6. If this is something you consider to be a deal-breaker, we will opt for Graco to provide better comfort.

Also, Graco Extend2Fit has a lead when it comes to the harness system. With its well-known Quick Fit harness, you will get the hang of it within 5 minutes. On the other hand, Safety 1st Grow and Go offers a 4-position adjust panel and 7-inch legroom space.

Safety 1st Grow and Go Vs. Evenflo Symphony Elite

Safety 1st Grow and Go wins the first round here. Compared with Evenflo Symphony Elite, Safety 1st is much lighter and narrow in design. It will also offer you a more extended use since it exceeds the expiration date of Evenflo by two years.

When compared, Symphony Elite is slightly more expensive. Why is that? Well, unlike Grow and Go, Symphony Elite offers a steel-reinforced frame, higher booster, and forward-facing weight and height limit, and it's easier to install.

So, is it worth the money? I think, yes.

If you value fuss-free installation and extra security, pick Evenflo. But if you want to get similar features at a lesser price, there is no better pick than Safety 1st.

Another feature you should consider is how much do you value padded straps? Do you want your kid to be as comfortable as possible and not have any marks on their body after a ride? Then the obvious pick would be Safety 1st. Unlike Evenflo, Safety 1st offers a padded harness in both the shoulder and crotch area.

Final Words

Now that you have read our Safety 1st Grow and Go reviews, we hope you found the information helpful. Not only that, but we hope we helped you decide whether Safety 1st is the right pick for you. With this kind of price and benefits, what's not to like? Safety 1st has been on the market for years, offering their customers top-notch design while putting safety as a priority.

There is nothing you can do better than choose a quality car seat for your little one.
